A New Approach to Workforce Training
Community Microlearning™ is a new approach to workforce training that leverages short bursts of content to enable employees to learn collaboratively. Unlike traditional lengthy courses or seminars, microlearning breaks concepts down into bite-sized pieces that can be consumed and shared easily.

The “community” aspect refers to how microlearning facilitates peer-to-peer teaching opportunities. Rather than only relying on formal experts and tutorials, employees are encouraged to create and share microlessons with their colleagues. For example, an employee who attends a conference may summarize the key takeaways into a 3-minute video “Learnie” to distribute to their team. Or a worker who learns a helpful tip from his boss might create a quick “Learnie” to pass along the knowledge. These Learnie’s (a 2 to 5 minute video training on a specific topic) are the atomic element of Learnie. These lessons can also be strung together to create whole courses – a Learnie Journey if you will – that can be used to certify workers knowledge with quizzes.
Increased Employee Retention
This communal exchange of knowledge and experience creates an agile culture of learning where employees are both the teachers and the students. Not only does this crowdsourced model tap into more diversity of knowledge, but it also strengthens inter-team connections, as employees support one another’s continual skill building. This results in better employee retention!
That’s Community Microlearning™!
In today’s rapid pace of change, community microlearning represents an efficient, collaborative approach to workplace learning that equips teams with bite-sized knowledge as and when they need it.
